Storytelling:

Your communication toolbox.

theWholeStory’s training, workshops and coaching positively and effectively develop your natural communication skills; so you can think, speak and work better.

"You’re never going to kill storytelling, because it’s built into the human plan. We come with it.”

Margaret Atwood.

What we do

Storytelling is part of human evolution. It’s a set of tools that made us the unique and brilliant communicators we are.

But these tools can get rusty.

Or we don’t know how best to use them.

theWholeStory’s practical approach enables individuals and organisations to understand and use storytelling well.

Good Storytelling = Good Communication

With our training you can communicate confidently and comfortably. Whether talking over an idea with a colleague in the corridor, round the table with the team for a monthly project update, formally presenting to the board, leading your organisation through a change, or building relationships with clients and other stakeholders.

“Can you imagine HIIT for your brain? That's what theWholeStory workshop felt like: challenging, thrilling, exhausting, and ultimately the best workout of my storytelling muscles.”

Who we work with

Since we founded in 2006 we have worked with the public and private sectors, charities, museums, heritage and cultural organisations.

They all need to communicate well and found real value and practical applicability in our training and approach.

“I have to be honest: I was a sceptic.  But I was so wrong.  It’s hard to overestimate the impact theWholeStory had with my charity.”

Chief Executive, Crimestoppers

Our Story

Our curiosity about how the practical, enduring and dynamic methods of storytelling can be used in contemporary working life, led us to founding theWholeStory in 2006.

When we began, our storytelling training was perfect for presentations and museum tours. Now, as well as developing our clients’ skills for effective, authentic and memorable communication, we use storytelling and creative approaches so they can investigate and gain greater understanding and build better connections, values and relationships.
